World of Discoveries
Museum
In front of the Oporto Alfândega, inside the old warehouses of the Real Companhia Velha, you can find the World of Discoveries. This is an interactive museum and theme park dedicated to the Portuguese discoveries, and was inaugurated in 2014.
The museum offers a historical trip through the Epic of the Portuguese Discoveries, using scenarios built to scale.
This space also has a navigable area with replicas of small boats where the Portuguese sea paths are recreated, passing through China, India, Japan, Indonesia, North Africa and Brazil.
Note that the visits are guided by guides dressed in the sixteenth century.
You can also find the Sphera Mundi museum shop and the Sabores do Mundo restaurant.
